Albert Einstein was a pretty smart guy. He came up with the theory of relativity and a formula we all know by heart: E=mc2. I’m not a scientist, but I do know that not everything is relative. Like truth, for example. We can debate it all we want, but truth remains constant. It’s not dependent on whether people believe it or not. It doesn’t change with opinion polls. It’s black and white and so crystal clear that it’s described by our nation’s founders as “self-evident.” Like how all men are created equal. And are endowed by their Creator with the inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The good news is, there are a lot of people who still believe that. People who know that when those basic truths are violated: like when innocent children are dismembered before their birthday; and when marriage between a man and a woman is redefined to mean something else. The good news is that people who know right from wrong…vote. The bad news is two-thirds of them just looked on and did nothing. Einstein said it this way:

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.

—Albert Einstein
