After the "Your e-mail" field, it gives this assurance:

Your e-mail address. Not required, but if you supply it, we can ask you in the case that something is not clear in your new printer entry. [Tells why they want it, and how it will be used.] We will not give your address to any third party, nor will we display it on web pages without any protection. [That is the kind of assurance I need before I want to give anyone my address.]
