I don't mind music that has words -- music with a message -- but for me, what I enjoy most about music is the melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre of the music. Which basically means that I enjoy instrumental music ever so slightly more than vocal music. Actually there's some vocal music without words that I enjoyed quite a bit too (Gregorian chants, beat boxing, etc.).
He has a very unique style, which involves tapping a rhythm on the guitar with his right hand (as opposed to strumming or picking, which is what guitarists normally do) and fingering/hitting the strings to make the melody/chords with his left hand.
What's that technique called? One poster called it a "slap tab rif stuff thing". I don't know if that's the technical term though. , I think the technical term might be finger style or fingerstyle (youtube tag).
