podcast: A non-music audio broadcast that has been converted to an MP3 file or other audio file format for playback in a digital music player. Developed by former MTV VJ and Internet businessman Adam Curry in 2004, the term was coined from Apple's iPod. Using the RSS 2.0 syndication format, podcasts are made available to subscribers just like news feeds. The client program that captures the audio feeds and synchronizes them with the music player is a "podcatcher." (http://www.techweb.com/encyclopedia/defineterm.jhtml?term=podcast)

podcatcher: A podcasting client. Software in a user's machine that downloads and aggregates podcasts for synchronization to the user's digital music player. (http://www.techweb.com/encyclopedia/defineterm.jhtml?term=podcatcher)

This is a self-contained app for publishing one or more podcasts.

It is assumed that the actual podcast resources (mp3's, other media) will be hosted elsewhere and this site will just provide an interface for adding episodes and showing HTML or XML feeds.

It is still experimental and bugs are being worked out.
